Salzburg – perhaps the most beautiful city in the world

Affectionately nicknamed "the Rome of the North" thanks to its beautiful architecture, Salzburg is the ideal backdrop for the varied programme of the Order of MALTA International Summer Camp 2017. Designated a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1997, the baroque city with its many tourist attractions is the perfect place for sightseeing tours and wonderful excursions into the surrounding area.

The Hohensalzburg Fortress, the imposing cathedral, Mozart's birthplace, Mirabell Palace and the Hellbrunn fountains are just a few of the unmissable highlights of a city tour around Salzburg. And the Salzburg Open Air Museum, where visitors can learn all about the history of the region, is definitely worth a visit. The best way to round off a tour of Salzburg is with some Original Salzburger Mozartkugeln from the Konditorei Fürst, a confectioner steeped in tradition. The beautifully packaged Mozartkugeln also make a great souvenir.

A warm welcome at the schools in the Nonntal district

In order to provide comfortable accommodation which is capable of meeting the needs of the roughly 500 attendees at the Order of MALTA International Summer Camp 2017, the centrally located schools in Nonntal are opening their doors for the week. The modern buildings are spacious and largely designed with accessibility in mind. The whole area offers plenty of space for the various creative and sporting activities at the camp.
